@Nicholas,
Thanks for your comment and sharing your thought.
I hope I'm getting you correctly, you mentioned about the list of the beliefs of "I"s.
The "I"s that I'm speaking of are the "I"s that think "I am what I have", or "I am what I do", or "I am what others think of me".
And you can choose to believe that, attached to that, or dethrone that.
That's my thought.

I have analyzed the question ‘who am I’ for as long as I could remember and the more I questioned it, the more experiences I would be lead to. I have experienced myself as being every label there is to be and the conclusion I derived to is that I am infinite. There is nothing I am not and everything I am. I could be labeled in an infinite number of ways and each way would be correct depending on who I decided to be in each moment. There, who I am is much too huge to know. I define my life by who I choose to be and I know exactly who I choose to be. I choose to be loving, knowledgeable, helping, intense, passionate, I choose to see beauty in all forms, etc… the list goes on, but I only choose the positive for myself and only choose to see the positive in everybody unconditionally.

I call the "I"s that you speak of, the """s of seperation. When you belief in those "I"s, your beliefs will be somewhere along the lines of this:
I am what I have. My possessions define me
I am what I do. My achievements define me.
I am what others think of me. My reputation defines me.
I am separate from everyone. My body defines me as alone.
I am separate from all that is missing in my life,. My life space is disconnected from my desires.
I am separate from God. My life depends on God's assessment of my worthiness.

If my thoughts, words, or action express this then I know I am not aligned with who I really am.

Thank you for the article, it was a delightful, insightful, and enlightening one! :)

@Evan, thanks for your message! For me it's the feeling to be great, to save people, and stuff like that that always push me beyond my boundaries. At the end it's only for selfish reason, for my own satisfaction and sense of control. I'm so happy realizing that and looking forward to change it.
About the will, I guess we have slightly different opinion. I guess it's important to have balance, or maybe I need to learn more about it.

Thanks for your thought, Evan!

Hi Robert,

Thanks for a really important post.

For years I was controlled by the need to be competent. I thought I needed to be competent to be acceptable. It wasn't until I faced this that I was freed from it.

My favourite translation of Rom.5:8 (Paul Tillich's) it was while we were unacceptable that Christ accepted us.

I'm not so sure about the importance of the will: if we fight ourselves we are sure to lose.
