Has blogging made a better you?

Feb 10, 2008 by Robert A Henru

Do you blog? If you do, has blogging made a better you?

It changes me a lot, even more as I blog on personal development, the points and principles that help me to be a better person and a successful introvert.

How do you know that you have become a better person?

I don’t have any problems relating to people. Really. It’s true. I don’t ever get irritated or upset with anyone: as long as I’m alone. It’s amazing just how easy life is when I’m alone and isolated. The worst in me can lie dormant for years as long as there’s no one around to awaken the sleeping giants inside of me.

The answer is relationship!

Yup, you will know that you are a better person, not when you are alone, but when you are with people who irritate you, trouble you, scold you, and so on. The more difficult a person is, the more you can test yourself.

Being with people is always challenging, and family is not excluded. My dad like to say that a person is “antik”, that’s “antique” in Indonesian language, but it has some negative connotation as if a person is “weird” or “strange”. I do think so, each of us is “antique”, we are “as-is” product, with all our defects and we need to learn to accept each other.

It’s been a week of holiday, being working oversea, it’s great to stay with my family, it’s very refreshing, but it also challenges me. It does change my routine very much which trouble me at the beginning. Even more with many issues, from a relative borrow a book from me and then lose it -a book with a lot of highlight and notes I’m about to share here =(-, some argument between relatives, on spending money and so on.

Through it all, so much principles or wisdom that I have shared here that I’m being reminded again and again to apply! It’s not perfect, but I do feel some different, especially in managing my emotion, advising my parents, practicing the habit of asking and so on.

Blogging for me is the declaration of things I need to pursue, practice and learn. Those are the mindsets to have and actions to make that I have learned from various sources, and in a way it has become a reminder what you need to do while you are in the situation that you need wisdom. It’s way far from perfection, but it does remind me again and again, through my mistakes and the situations I face.

Your turn:

If you blog, how blogging has benefit you to become a better person?

  1. Blogging make me have the motivation to learn and discover new information for my brain. It makes me feel the feeling of sharing something with others and I really enjoy this. So I want to learn more and share more. Indirectly this make me feel that I improve a lot since I have a blog.

Besides that blogging also makes me have a better mind about making money online. It has proven to me that I can make money online and now I have to concentrate on how to upgrade myself and make more money.
