Don’t Play Small

You’re a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Marianne Williamson (A Return To Love)

The quote was taken from the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind book, wealth file #4:

Rich people think big.
Poor people think small.

Why are we playing small, some because fear of failure or even success. Some are for the sake of false humility, we think that by playing small, we won’t make others feel insecure, etc. But that’s not the way, as Marianne Williamson put it, when we shine, we liberate others to shine as well.

It’s time to stop needing and start leading. It’s time to start sharing your gifts instead of hoarding them or pretending they don’t exist. It’s time you started playing the game of life in a “big” way.

So from now onwards, dream big and start from everywhere you are to make your dream comes true. It will always take courage and steps of faith. One thing to remember is that, it will always start with what you have, what you can do at the moment. It’s what Eker also mention about getting into the “corridor”.

It means entering the arena where you want to be in the future, in any capacity, to get started.
